Septic System Inspections

Septic Tanks/Lagoons

There are a handful of reasons you may want to get your septic system inspected. It is typical during the sale or purchase of a home with a septic system to have a septic inspection. You may just be noticing some issues with your plumbing and wish to investigate. Either way, inspecting your system is never a bad idea and can prevent costly repairs down the road.

Depending on the type of system the inspector will inspect all the components of the septic tank or lagoon to see if it meets state standards and is functioning properly. State standards include, but are not limited to, the size of the tank/lagoon, what the tank is made of, the inlet and outlet lines, cleanouts, lateral field, and baffles. Lagoons will also be inspected for vegetation and proper fencing.

Septic Inspection Process

When StrongHold does a septic system inspection on your septic tank or lagoon, we start by checking for any leaks/drainage that should not be there. We then assess the pipe conditions, measure the liquid levels (and solid level in a septic tank), and check on the overall health and function of the system. During this process we’re able to give our expert opinion on how well the system has been maintained, if there are current repairs or maintenance that should be performed, and if we see any issues that may require repair or maintenance in the future.
